Snowshoeing makes an excellent winter outdoor activity for people of all ages. You can burn more than 600 calories on average per hour snowshoeing. And most outdoor retailers offer rental options to make it easy to get your hands on some snowshoes. Here in the Pacific Northwest, we’ve been known to pack up thermoses of hot beverages on those snowy days, and hike out to take in the sights. It’s a great way to get out of the house and make a day out of a snow adventure.
