Great looking watch. I wear it every day the sticking on the wrist band is becoming frayed and paint has chipped off the body of watch. Would not recommend if planning on using it everyday with activities. But would recommend for a great looking watch that also feels great on your wrist.
I found this watch after a year of searching for a watch that would fit my needs and style well. My watch before this was a Casio Protrek, and I loved that thing. I was concerned that this watch would be too heavy and too large on my wrist, and I was also wary of the velco-fabric strap and how well it would wear over time.
Let me tell you, all of those concerns have been relieved. It feels solid on my wrist, yet not too heavy. The dimensions are very nice and it fits well on my wrist. The fabric is comfortable, and the Velcro feels both very secure and also allows for minute adjustments.
I also loved the simplicity of the watch itself; it feels like it was designed as a field watch with added time-tracking capabilities. I also think the aesthetic is great; I don’t need something to look like a diamond on my wrist to everyone else, but when I do look down to check the time, I am greeted with a great design.
Though I haven’t had this thing for longer than a week, and I will withhold judgement of how it holds up over time, I really do believe this thing work for decades (if I can not lose it like I did my Protrek). There is a rugged functionality of this watch. I like it.
Lovely watch, fits me nice and feels comfortable, being in the UK the customs charge was a bit of a shocker but I would recommend this watch to anyone
Took a chance on this brand that I was not familiar with and received the watch a couple of weeks ago. It is exactly as described on the web site and for the money is a great watch.
I cannot say enough good things about this watch, the company and its support team. The watch is way higher quality than I was expecting. It wears thinner to the wrist than the case suggests, whilst still having the same feel of a durable field watch. The movement is solid with great winding, and screw down crown. The water resistance for reference is twice as much as the Hamilton Khaki Mechanical, which is what I would compare this watch to even though it’s slightly thicker. The lume is incredible and extremely legible. The strap quality is much better than accepted on both options ( tip for softening up the NATO, wear it in the ocean or pool).
The customer support team is exceptional. They answered my every question and helped with special delivery instructions each step of the way. Also… a 10 year warranty? Where are you going to get that now a days?

Love the look of the Open Water Daybreak. And am blown away by excellent customer service! This is my first automatic and diver, and Chris and Kaine have been patient with, a very responsive to, my silly questions. My bracelet was too big - purely my incompetence at measurement - and they are sending me a new one! Vero has acquired a repeat customer. I think i will go for the Meridian next.
Such a cool, unique, yet practical watch. Looks like nothing else out there, and feels like it’s ready for anything you throw at it. Big fan of the smaller case size and excellent colors. The kinetic quartz movement is the best of both worlds - charges by the motion of your wrist, with the accuracy and always-ready nature of a battery. 100% recommend!
I am really enjoying the Meridian Manuel Wind Rally. The level of quality and detail of the dial, case, and straps are all high. I picked it because of the simple yet classic style, and I'm happy with my choice.
It wears a bit smaller than I had thought on my 6.75 inch wrist. And, there appears to be a couple of small blemishes on the surface of the ratchet and crown wheel, although I don't mind too much as they're not visible while wearing.
Hello - The Air Tanker is a great piece, large buttons and inner rotating bezel is a great feature.
NATO strap works well, could be wider.
HOWEVER the lume is non existent.!!
At this price point I’m very disappointed.
Agreed it’s not a Luminox but my 20 year-old beater Seiko has brighter lume.
I’m not being an ass or sarcastic but when you literally can’t find the watch sitting on the bedside table in the dark that’s not a good sign.
I fly airplanes and when I read “Super LumiNova on hands, dial numbers and bezel” l decided to buy the watch but having to pull out a flashlight just to check time is not an option.
Can I get the lume restored?
Again - the lume is barely perceptible in the dark.

I’m really enjoying my Forest Service edition. It’s not a “serious watch,” just a fun watch that looks good and wears well, wears better than its thickness implies as the movement is light. as a former forest service employee I was excited for these and it’s become a common “grab and go” piece for me. I have 8” wrists and I wish the strap had another centimeter length to feel truly secure and the inner rotating bezel is all but impossible to set precisely, but at this price and with this charm I don’t mind at all.
Received this as a birthday gift from my partner and couldn't be more happy with it! I loved the Filson Smokey watch years ago, but didn't buy one. She found this and honestly, I like it better! Well-constructed, really nice size and the style is fabulous. Understated, but unique. I didn't really know anything about Vero previously, but now you're definitely on my radar as a watch junkie!

I was able to visit Chris at the Vero office to try on their watches when I was in Portland! I specifically came in to try the open water automatics but was blown away by how much I liked the workhorse. It fit super well, has a really nice presence and any time I head out into the mountains it is the watch I grab!
This is a really unique watch in terms of style. I hope Vero will try out other variations of this design. Perhaps a polished non-DLC case (to look dressier) and/or alternate dial colors like red or orange? I bought the green dial. I hope to purchase the blue dial at some point.
I like how the watch is light but solid. The teal color really shines in the light.
The band, however, could use a couple updates. First, it barely fits my 7.5” wrist. I have friends with larger wrists that can’t wear this watch. Lengthen the band. Second, how about something other than a vinyl band? Vinyl/silicone bands simply don’t breathe and can get pretty sweaty after a short time. I can’t wear the watch until I find another band; I shouldn’t have to do this with a new watch.
You’re on the right track, Vero. Just make them fit … comfortably.

I couldn’t be happier I bought this Smokey watch. It keeps solid time right out of the box. The watch and packaging makes it seem like I got my hands on a standard issue item given to Forest Rangers first day on the job.
