The US Forest Service watches have a Seiko PX28A Kinetic movement with date display and sweeping power reserve indicator.

A kinetic movement has a unique way of storing energy. Much like an automatic movement, kinetic movements have a rotor that turns with the motion of your wrist. This movement is converted into energy and stored in a capacitor.

The Seiko Kinetic Movement inside each Forest Service Edition watch can store up to a six-month charge. Unlike quartz movements that use a battery, kinetic movements use a capacitor to store and rapidly replenish energy with the motion of your wrist.

With the push of a button, the second-hand switches over to operate as the power reserve indicator. The distance of the sweep indicates the amount of stored energy from one day up to six months.

I absolutely love my Forest Service Airtanker. It’s my first everyday driver, and since I got it in May, it hasn’t left my wrist. This watch has been through it all—under Iguazu Falls, over the waves in the Dominican Republic and Puerto Rico, and deep into the Uruguayan jungle. It’s built for real Cossack adventures.
The wear and tear on the case just adds to its story, making it feel like a true travel companion. It’s rugged, stylish, and always grabs attention— people constantly compliment and ask about it 🇺🇦🇺🇸

Pretty mixed opinion on this watch. What I like: It's a pretty unique color and I like the coating on it. I think the kinetic movement and the ability to check the voltage of the capacitor is super cool. What I dislike: There is virtually no lume on this watch. You will not be able to read it in the dark at all. The band that it comes with is terrible. I replaced the band immediately with a FKM rubber strap.

I was pretty unhappy with this watch when I first got it. Now that I have swapped out the bands, it's growing on me, but I still think this is not a great package unless you are buying it to fit a very specific reason.
